How to Shop Sofa Beds?

Ensuring that you have the right sofa bed is very important. To make sure you have the right sofa bed that is easy, comfortable to sit and sleep on, consider these following shopping tips.

Before you purchase, you need to consider the size of the sleeper sofa that best suit for you.  Consider who will be using the bed; it is an individual or a couple?  You should also measure the size of the room. It might not be able to accommodate a large sofa bed.

Evaluate the fabric to ensure that the pattern on the pillow aligns with the rail of the sofa. Ensure that the legs are strongly screwed in. You can turn over the sofa to check it. The frame must be wood with corner glue and blocks. Do not purchase a sofa with stapled, un-braced or nailed joints, these will wobble and loosen. You can remove the sofa pillows or cushions and check inside the sofa. You must not see any wood, just upholstered, smooth surfaces. Sit on the end and center cushion for several minutes to ensure that both areas are comfortable. Lie on the sofa to check if it is comfortable. If any of these feel uncomfortable, continue shopping.

On the other hand, purchase only a piece that utilizes steel for the bed frame’s skeleton to ensure adequate strength. Do not forget to check the mounting plate (that is the heavy weigh steel structure that connects to the wood frame of the sofa.) It must be fastened, not screwed on. Select an inner-spring, coiled mattress, shop with a companion who can examine the mattress even for at least five to six minutes. Sometimes, a heavier person can feel the uncomfortable support bar from every side of lower mattress, it hurts!

A headrest that locks easily in place for TV viewing or nighttime reading can be a handy feature. You can ask the salesperson or seller whether the bed can be designed with a light blanket and sheets while the sofa is closed. This can be one of the convenient factors that should be considered, especially if you are expecting guests over night. You should tell the seller that you will be having an extended test at home of the sofa bed for a few weeks, and that you will come back if the furniture fail to meet the required standard. If he/she has a problem with this, you should go elsewhere.
